Are you too conscious about the kind of foods you consume for maintaining a fit body? If yes then ‘super foods’ will surely tickle your curiosity. Super foods are not what you may connote to etymologically, not a food that superman is supposed to be consuming, and not so difficult to obtain either. Ordinary foods can be tagged as super foods if they meet the basic criteria:  being sparse in calories and dense in nutrients.
Soy is an excellent ‘low-calorie source’ of nutrients that has earned ‘super-food’ status. According to a report by American medical association, diets rich in soy fibers lower unhealthy cholesterol levels by significant amount. There’s no speculation why the demand for ‘Tofu’ has increased so much in recent days—a versatile source of soy protein, and delicious too!

Other examples of super food include spinach, oats, plums and prunes. Spinach is my favorite for a number of reasons. Stuffed with nutrients like lutein and zeaxanthin, its acts as a sunscreen for eyes and eliminates the risk of macular degeneration, a fatally progressive disease that leads to blindness.
Depending upon your location, you can sort out the super foods that are available to you and incorporate them into your diet.
