The world of psychology is strange. Every now and then we find new studies being published in journals—studies that set our minds into a state of bewilderment. I came across one such study that ruled: THE SIGHT OF RED HELPS US LOOSE WEIGHT.

Can it be true? The answer is both yes and no. In the study, three experimental groups were served food on plates that were either of the three colors: Red, white, and blue. The group that received the red plate consumed relatively lesser than their counterparts did. Hence, it was inferred that serving food in red dished lead to a reduction in appetite.

But hold on…while the research holds true for the majority of subjects it was conducted on, there were some individual differences under varied conditions. Red failed to show its effect in a similar way when the subjects were informed that they’re being tested for a hypothesis which stated that ‘THE SIGHT OF RED HELPS US LOOSE WEIGHT’. Something akin to placebo effect…

And now since you too know the secret, I guess it won’t work for you either, typically when you’re aware of it. But don’t worry there are many other ways of loosing those extra pounds that assures more success than eating on a red place does.
